Sauna : let the stress melt away

 

Head to the sauna to relax, unwind and recharge the natural way.

We recommend spending approximately 1 hour in the sauna, with three sessions of 15 minutes each.

Start by lying down on one of the lower benches, where the heat is less intense.

Perspiration normally appears after 5 minutes.

Make sure to stay hydrated during each session. Herbal teas and a kettle are at your disposal.

The sauna is a tradition that comes straight from northern countries, particularly Finland.

An ancient and universal tradition

This practice dates back almost 2,000 years in Finland. Some say that the Vikings themselves practised this ritual. Today, it is widespread in Northern Europe, France, Russia and even Japan.

The many benefits of the sauna

The heat from the volcanic stones reaches between 60°C and 100°C (for those most accustomed to the practice) and triggers immediate and significant reactions in the cardiovascular system (the heat dilates the blood vessels, which increases the heart rate) and the endocrine system.

The sauna is generally well tolerated by both children and adults.

Numerous scientific studies have found that regular sessions in the sauna are not dangerous for one’s health. On the contrary, this practice is cleansing and promotes relaxation and wellbeing, as well as boosting the immune system, particularly to fight stress and infections, enhancing blood flow and toning the skin.
